Well, it’s time for this blog to come to an end. In the last eight months, I’ve had more good things happen to me than seems fair. I visited Chicago, New Orleans, Houston, Honduras, Ireland and North Carolina. I watched my brother not only grower stronger and healthier but get a better GPA than me during his first semester of college. I got engaged to the man of my dreams and found my wedding dress, booked our church and reception venue and even purchased plane tickets for our honeymoon. I was inducted into Butler’s top 100 students, survived a semester with 22 credit hours, and helped to found Butler’s Peace and Justice Club. I took seven weeks to find myself and discovered a second family in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I strengthened friendships, turned 21 and met children in a foreign country who will always have a place in my heart. I read fantastic books, blogged, wrote in a journal, including some poetry, and learned about the world through movies. In the upcoming months, I will begin my last year at Butler, search for a job, train for a marathon, skydive and ride in a hot air balloon with my fiancé, plan our wedding and honeymoon, take engagement pictures, have my last Thanksgiving and Christmases at home, turn 22, and enjoy my final months of freedom from real responsibility. 2011 has been good to me and will hopefully continue to be as I venture further into adulthood. I’m looking forward to what the future has in store, and I can’t wait to see who I become with the love of my life by my side. For my life, I am grateful.
