Holden Beach Day Four

I forgot to write about day four until day five, and now none of us can adequately remember exactly what happened, but this is the best we can piece it together.  Nanny and Po went antiquing in Wilmington for the day but didn’t find anything they liked.  In fact, I think they were downright disgusted and Nanny came back saying, “They don’t know what antiques are around here.”  Aunt Val seemed to have caught what Liam had on day three and was sick to her stomach most of the day.  She did, however, wake up in the morning to make everyone buttermilk pancakes and assisted in her assigned meal of fajitas for dinner, both of which were delicious.  Throughout the day, the rest of us swam in the ocean, laid out and relaxed.  Nanny, Po, Eric, Nicole, Brendan and I played a crazy couple of games of six handed euchre in typical men vs. women style, and the women lost in the last hand of the fifth game (best of five) when I went alone and missed it by one card.  There is nothing worse than losing to the men.  After dinner, we played an oh hell tournament, setting up a winner’s and a loser’s table.  The tournament lasted about five games before everyone called it quits and went their separate ways to sleep.
