On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful

The weather was absolutely gorgeous.  We enjoyed the sunshine by walking around Sneem and visiting the market in the morning.  Rosa and walked in and out of every shop for almost three hours, making sure that we got the full effect of Sneem.  At the end of the morning, we had each only spent nine Euros, three of which went towards snacks and the other six which went towards books, clothes and postcards at the second hand store.  I found a brand new designer dress that still had the tags on it and was labeled as 75 Euros for only three Euros.  I also got two books for one Euro each and three postcards.  After the marketplace, we went back to the house for lunch and then changed into swimsuits to walk to the boat for a ride.  I decided it would be a good idea to shave my legs quickly before we left.  I cut myself five times, and all the cuts gushed blood for nearly a half an hour.  One cut went through three Band-Aids.  You would think at this point in my life I would be more capable of shaving my legs.  After my battle wounds had been dealt with, we walked to the boat and drove it out to an island where we sunbathed for almost two hours.  I accidently fell asleep without sunscreen on and came back looking like a tomato.  Rosa told me I looked like a cute tomato though, so it didn’t matter.          After taking pictures and exploring the island a bit, we drove back and changed quickly again to drive to Kenmare for a dance class Mara and Josh were taking from dance professionals who flew in from New York.  Rosa and I were encouraged to take the class, but understanding our dance limitations, we opted out of that and went grocery shopping and for a coffee with Yvonne.  We then watched them dance for a little while, were very glad we hadn’t attempted to participate, and drove home.  I had the chance to skype with Brendan, which was very nice and then went to bed at around midnight.  I love sunny weather in Ireland.

  1. You have always been a great shopper but have never been very good at shaving your legs.
